Whoa Mamma

First, I think I sounded a little too sad and serious in the last post, which is wierd because that isn't typically me. Second, thanks to everyone for posting comments on there and for looking for ways to spread the word of adoption. Third, I was thinking about what if some of you really do meet someone who is thinking of placing a baby for adoption; what information would you give them? I hope all of you reading will remember this website: http://www.itsaboutlove.com/ That's all you really need to give them (well and our name is JeffAndLiz2 if you want). But seriously, if any of you haven't looked at that site it gives some inspiring words about adoption and allows a birthmother to choose what kind of parents she would like her baby to grow up with. Anyway...remember that one. Last, I just want to say how honestly thankful I am to be able to adopt. I think about it every day and really I consider myself lucky. I used to be sad that I wasn't able to get pregnant, but now I look at my life and I LOVE IT! I love the road we have taken, the stairs we are climbing, the muscles we're building, and the mansion we are preparing. I hope my little posts will help others be more aware of adoption and what a sweet blessing it is for families everywhere. Oh ya, one more thing...whoa mamma I didn't know so many people check this blog...haha welcome to my crazyland :)

Thoughts & Wishes

I wish I was an excellent, entertaining, insightful writer. That's just one of my many wishes, but for those of you who know me, you know my brain is a bounce house and sometimes if I bounce around a cohesive, structured thought will actually appear! Hopefully it will happen here. Last night we went to visit some friends who recently got married. They are so cute and so funny we love to chat with them. Anywho, she is a high school teacher here and was telling us some of the crazy kids she met at the first day of school yesterday and told us she has at least 2 girls who are pregnant. I told her to tell them about this great couple who's adopting! Then she told us that last year teaching 7th grade, she had a student ask about buying a pregnancy test for his girlfriend...7th grade. I guess one thing I wish the most, especially right now, is that people would remember how important family is, and that they would remember how Heavenly Father created families and how important living the commandments is. I wish people could understand the peace and happiness that comes from faithful obedience to the Lord. I wish that somewhere some birth mother will take a serious look at the life of the baby she carries inside her and want something better and more complete for him/her that she may not be able to provide and have the courage to choose adoption. "A dream is a wish your heart makes, when you're fast asleep. In dreams you will lose your heartache, whatever you wish for you keep. Have faith in your dreams and someday your rainbow will come shining through. No matter how your heart is greiving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true."

Quick Update

Just thought I'd post a quick little update about life. I had a great week and thank you to everyone who called or wrote to tell me happy birthday! I wanted to update about my marathon training. All of you who have done marathons and love running....how do you do it?!!? My body is so tired! Our workout schedule has running on M, T, S, with Mondays always being a 2 mile recovery run, Tuesdays our speed workouts where we do timed half mile repeats, and Saturdays are the long runs. This week I honestly thought I was going to die! I couldn't finish running my 3rd 1/2 mile and today we ran 6 miles and I was so hot and my legs were getting all tight and my chest was hurting, I told Jeff I think I've hit a wall or something because I thought it would start getting easier, but I feel like it's getting way harder. Then I think holy cow, I'll have to run 6 more miles to finish my half marathon, how in the world am I going to do that? I guess it's a lot of mental toughness that I'm lacking right now, any suggestions on how to keep going through the hot sweaty pain would be appreciated! Thanks again for all the birthday wishes, I can't believe I'm 28! I still feel like I am about 22...except when I run!

The BEST dog there ever was...

Not everyone is a dog lover. Jeff was probably one of those who didn't really care for dogs, until for our 2nd anniversary he gave in and bought me this beautiful black bundle of fun we named Annie. She was a mix between a black lab and a husky and she had the best traits from both of them. Annie was living in Idaho with Grandma and Grandpa Cranor while we've been in Las Vegas and boy did she love their yard! Annie loved to swim and we always had to have a kiddie pool full of water for her to cool off in. She also loved to get into trouble and made a lot of extra work for Grandpa Cranor; re-wiring his barbed wire fence, re-building the wooden spindles on the deck that she chewed through, running her along side the snowmachine when she ran off. Saturday she went on another adventure with Sadie and went swimming in the canal late at night, but this time she didn't get to make it back home. Annie got hit by a car and was killed. Jeff and I may be a little biased, but we really do think she was the best dog ever. She helped us get through some pretty tough times and made us feel like we always had someone to take care of who loved us no matter what. Mom & Dad, thanks for taking such good care of her and Annie, thanks for being the best dog there ever was.

Idaho

Well, we just got back last night from Idaho. It was such an awesome trip!!! We left on the 1st and were there for Todd's baptism (congratulations Todd!) and then Jeff had to drive home to go back to work while I stayed and went to a little family reunion in Island Park. I had such a great time with my family and all my nieces and nephews. I even caught a tiny little fish which I would post a picture of but we left our camera in Idaho. I got to go to Alisa's bridal shower which was fun since I really had only met her once before. Jeff flew back to Idaho on Friday and we spent the rest of the weekend working on the reception stuff and going to the wedding. Jason and Alisa are SO stinking cute, I'm so happy they found each other. We also feel like we had a little mini class reunion with all the friends we saw at the reception, it was really fun. I feel like we've been getting the word out about our adoption mostly in part to our family so I just wanted to thank everyone for letting people know we are adopting. It seems like everyone knows someone whose life has been touched by adoption, it's really an amazing process and event that I'm so happy to be a part of. Anyway, we love Idaho and seeing everyone there and now we're glad to be home.
